Certain goods are subject to special provisions when entering or leaving an EU member State.

This is particularly the case for weapons and ammunition, cultural goods, protected fauna and flora and derivatives (Washington convention), live animals and animal products, plants and plant products, medicine and medical products (other than those for the personal use of passengers) as well as wines, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and other controlled products.

The free baggage allowance is the weight and baggage items allowed on board without having to pay a supplement, depending on the destination.
